In this new feature we'll be highlighting the best chess video posted during the previous week. This week we've chosen the excellent
live commentary IM curtains recorded of his game against ICC player Roka. Curtains plays solidly throughout the game, winning a pawn out of the opening and weathering his opponent's initiative with active play. The live commentary allows the viewer a chance to see how a good blitz player thinks during his games. In fact, "good" might be an understatement; after this game, curtains was ranked #8 on the ICC list of top 5-minute players.
The runner-up this week was a video that BKildahl recorded in which he analyzes two of his
recent games. The video is full of interesting analysis, and the second game even includes an excellent mini endgame-game lesson on a fortress with the lone king against an enemy knight and pawn.
